F.A.Q.

HOW LONG DOES OMBRE EYEBROW LAST?

The results can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years. Many factors can affect this time frame, such as the clients type of skin, proper care of the brows after the procedure, and many others. It is recommended to have a touch-up procedure done annually to retain the proper shape and saturation of pigment

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?

The procedure lasts roughly 2-2.5 hours but may be longer or shorter. Please allow a solid 3-hour window for your appointment. It likely will not require that much time but is not something that can be rushed.

DO I NEED TO TAKE THE DAY OFF WORK?

No, you do not. You may resume normal activity directly following the procedure. Redness will alleviate in 1-2 days. Eyebrows will appear darker initially, but not so dark that you will be prevented from normal activities.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?

Healing time varies from individual to individual. Usually, it takes about a 7-10 days for the epithelial crust to form and slough off. Your skin will be considered healed after that happens. The pigment will then take some time to settle into the skin, a good month should pass before the procedure is considered complete.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS LIKE?

This semi-permanent makeup is a two-step treatment, consisting of an initial procedure and a touch up, between 6 to 8 weeks after. After taking a before photo, the brow design is drawn with a pencil, to give the client an idea of shape and form. (Please note that majority of faces are not completely symmetrical. Eyebrows are not meant to be identical and it is impossible to attain this look even with natural brow hair. It is also not possible to match a photo of your favorite celebrities’ eyebrows when you may have an entirely different face shape.) Once both the microblading artist and client have agreed on a final shape (ultimately it is the clients decision – but the artist may make recommendations based on their knowledge of what suits a person aesthetically), I will shape your eyebrows then we will decide on the color. Shortly after that, a topical anesthetic will be administered to ensure comfort. Once you’re numb, the pigment is deposited. During the healing process, it is normal to experience some pigment loss; this is why a touch up is done.

WILL YOU SHAVE MY EYEBROWS?

No. Every attempt is made to retain all-natural eyebrow hair and integrate the semi-permanent design as naturally as possible. In some cases, where shaping of the natural brow is required, a few hairs here and there may need to be removed to create a clean and aesthetically pleasing result.

WHAT CAN I NOT DO AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

You are advised to keep the skin clean and dry – that means no swimming, sweating, getting the area wet, no tanning, no having prolonged sun exposure, no picking, peeling, scratching or rubbing the tattoo. These may attribute to loss of color and scarring. Washing your hair and face may still be done, as long as the brows are not completely submerged in water. Once they have healed up entirely, you are free to treat them as your own.

DOES OMBRÉ/MICROBLADING EYEBROWS HURT?

Everyone acquires a different level of sensitivity, so it is impossible to give a direct answer. A topical anesthetic can be applied prior and throughout the treatment, this will alleviate any sensation or discomfort. Some clients may even feel more sensitive on one brow more than the other. You will hear a scratch like noise during the procedure, this is normal and nothing to be concerned about.
*Music is usually played during the procedure, however feel free to bring your own ear phones and music to listen to.

IS IT SAFE?

Absolutely! We only use sterilized, disposable needles and supplies.

CAN YOU SHADE OVER A SCAR?

Yes. We can shade over a scar but it might require a few sessions due to a poor color retention from scar tissue.

CAN YOU COVER AN OLD TATTOOED OR MICROBLADED EYEBROW FROM ANOTHER ARTIST?

It depends. Only if a substantial amount of fading has occurred and the color is light. This is because if the color is still dark, the old eyebrow will show through the new one and you might end up having two eyebrows over each other. If the previous color is still very noticeable or dark it is recommended to have a tattoo removal first and come back or not to do them at all.

*If you are unsure if you are eligible for Microblading/Ombré please send us a clear picture of your eyebrows.

WILL I NEED A TOUCH UP?

It is likely. Within the first two weeks of the initial procedure the color fades as much as 30-40% and the eyebrow might look patchy and uneven. After this period, typically between 4-8 weeks, a follow-up appointment is done. The touch-up procedure is much less time consuming as the initial one. Any changes you would like to make may be discussed.

HOW DO YOU DO THE TOUCH UP?

Touch-up session is the same as the initial one. We will go over the entire eyebrow again to shade/microblade, except for areas where the color was retained.

HOW WILL THE EYEBROWS LOOK IMMEDIATELY AFTER AND ONCE FULLY HEALED?

The eyebrows will initially look dark, thick and uneven due to swelling. After the scabs came off, color will lighten up about 30-40% and eyebrows will shrink down, becoming thinner and shorter about 10-15% once fully healed.

HOW DO I EXTEND THE LIFE OF MY NEW BROWS?

Eyebrows will remain beautiful and last much longer if sun block is applied regularly and any abrasive facial treatments on the brow area are avoided.

CAN YOU GUARANTEE YOUR WORK?

Unfortunately, we cannot. It is impossible to predict how the skin will react in each individual and many factors are taken into consideration; skin type, age, scarring, diet, stress levels, facial products used, etc. These all play a key role in how the pigment will hold, which is why it is crucial to know that more than one touch up may be required.

We treat our client’s brows as our own and offer the best possible treatment as we can. Using our experience and expertise to give the absolute best outcome possible. We guarantee to strive for complete satisfaction in the design of your brows every time. Again, reiterating that there are no guarantees in this industry. Please carefully take into account all aspects of the process and decide carefully if having your eyebrows microbladed is right for you.
